How to Reset Hikvision IP Camera Password

Follow the steps below to reset Hikvision IP camera password:

First, you need to download Hikvision SADP (Search Active Devices Protocol) tool for a latest version.  This tool can be downloaded from the Hikvision website.

After installing the software, open it to run on desktop or laptop.

Press the "Scan" button to scan for all connected network devices.  It will display the IP list of connected devices.

Identify your Hikvision IP camera and press the "Scan" button to scan.  This will display your camera's IP address and port number.

After scanning, your camera's IP address and port number can be found in the camera model's manual.

If you don't have the manual for the camera model or not, you can follow the steps below:

The Hikvision SADP tool will connect to your camera.  This will display the camera information panel.

After connecting to the camera, login your username and password in the panel dialog box.

You can usually use the default username "admin" and default password "12345".

If this username and password does not work for the camera, please check the camera model manual or contact Hikvision Support Center to find out the default username and password.

If access is not available after login with correct username and password, you can follow the following steps:

Factory reset the camera by clicking the reset button or reset holder.  The location and procedure for the reset button may be described in the camera model's manual.

The reset procedure may differ in different models, so check the manual or contact Hikvision Support.

Go to the camera's panel and find the Full Reset or Default Settings option.  This will usually be under "System Settings" or "Advanced Settings".

Go to the Settings menu and select the option "Reset Password" or "Reset Default Settings".  This will reset your camera settings to factory default settings and reset the password.

After the password reset is completed, you can login to the camera using the new password.  The new password will be described in the manual in some cases or you can set it locally.
