Why PoE Switch is Used With Internet

PoE Switch and Internet:

A Power over Ethernet (PoE) switch is a network switch that has Power over Ethernet injection capabilities.

This means that the switch can send power along with data over Ethernet cables to devices that support PoE, such as wireless access points, IP cameras, and VoIP phones.

The PoE switch itself does not work directly with the Internet.  Instead, it is used to connect different devices in a network and provide them with power and data connections.

The switch is connected to a router or modem, which is then connected to the Internet service provider's network.  It allows devices connected to the PoE switch to access the Internet.

PoE switches are a useful tool for network administrators because they simplify the installation process and reduce the amount of cabling required.

In a traditional setup, devices that require power need to be connected to a power outlet and separate cables need to be run for data connections.

With a PoE switch, a single Ethernet cable can be used for both power and data, reducing clutter and simplifying installation.

PoE switches are especially useful for devices that are located in hard-to-reach places, such as ceilings or walls.  In this case, it may be difficult or impossible to run separate power and data cables to the device.  Using a PoE switch eliminates the need for a separate power source and allows for easy installation.

And also, PoE switches can help reduce power consumption by allowing devices to be turned off remotely, which can be useful in environments where energy conservation is a concern, such as data centers or large office buildings.

Overall, a PoE switch is an important tool for network administrators looking to simplify installation, reduce cabling, and provide power and data connectivity to devices that support PoE.

Although it does not work directly with the Internet, it is an essential component of a larger network infrastructure that provides Internet connectivity to devices.
