What is a database used for?: It is a data repository, where data is stored and accessed in general. Data is stored, modified, and accessed using databases. Database design and management play an important role in IT projects.

And IT Server: It is a computer system, which provides database and other services over network. IT server is a device configured so that it can provide database services, web services, email, file storage, etc.

These two can be a unique judgment of the key approach to database management and data storage in an IT project as a whole.  The database server provides instructions for storing and accessing the database, and the IT server communicates this data to all users.

Databases and IT Servers are related to two main functions for the main purpose i.e., database servers are used to store and access data.  A database server is a computer system where the database is stored and the data storage, manipulation, and access tasks are performed by the database management system.

Database servers are contacted using IT servers, data is queried and processed, so that users can access the data.

In general, database servers use software to store, manage, and provide various IT services depending on the database.
