RJ45 cable is a cable standard used to transfer data over computer networks.This cable can be used to connect Ethernet networks, WiFi extenders, routers and computers.
As soon as we see the pin number of the RJ45 cable, we need to know what type of network the cable will run through.
And data is transferred through the common cable used in WiFi networks and usually text, images or audio etc. are used to connect the network.
Generally, the pin numbers used in cables in a WiFi network are 1, 2, 3 and 6. By connecting these pins, only necessary connections are made to the WiFi network.The following different configurations are considered using these pins.
Access Point Mode: In this mode the router or access point is connected to pins 1 and 2. Typically, this mode requires the connection to be established so that the data reaches the access point directly to work.
Client Mode: In this mode, pin 1 and 2 of the computer and pin 3 and 6 of the router are connected. In this mode the computer connects to the router and configures the router for internet connection.
Pins 3 and 6 are used in client mode as data collection and internet connection are sent through these pins. In this mode the router can be the secondary or the middle that receives the data packets and sends them to the computer.
How does it work?
When a computer joins a WiFi network, the computer receives an IP address through the network that is used to connect to the Internet. Then, the computer creates data packets and sends them to the router so they can be sent over the Internet.
The router then forwards the data packets towards the Internet.
Thus, computers connect to the Internet using cables in WiFi networks.
